Through our school programs, adventure trips, and discovery center, we educated and inspired over 10,000 people in 2017 to cherish the Colorado Plateau.

In addition to our education and adventure programs, we started the Seeds of Success project this past year as an extension of our stewardship efforts. Seeds of Success is a partnership with government land management agencies, universities, and nonprofit organizations like ours to help collect, propagate, and restore native plant ecosystems across the Colorado Plateau. As you may know, our high desert has a very fragile ecosystem. Seeds of Success helps ensure native plants can maintain their foothold and keep the Colorado Plateau in its wild and natural state.

With support from the AmeriCorps program and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), we gave recent college graduate, Caitlin, an internship opportunity to work closely with our field botanist and biologist on this project. Caitlin spent her time scouting out native plant life and collecting seeds in amazing places such as Comb Wash, Cedar Mesa, Bears Ears, and Recapture Canyon. At the close of Caitlin’s internship, she told me she plans to attend graduate school so she can continue the stewardship efforts she learned with us this year.

In 2018, we hope to continue working with students like Caitlin to teach them how to be good stewards of the Colorado Plateau.

Your donation will ensure more young adults become inspired to love the Colorado Plateau.
